B.F.A. Painting
My work explores human experience and the fragile nature of time and memory. Through humor, realism, and love, I aim to create a connection and invite viewers to reflect on the emotions that lie beneath surface appearances. I am interested in revealing the unique stories and vulnerabilities that shape us as human beings, and I believe humor can function as both a tool for connection and a form of social commentary.

This exhibition features nine paintings created from MDF board, each based on a real memory from my life and tied to a distinct experience and emotion. The custom-cut panels are integral to the work, making each piece technically distinctive while reinforcing the personal nature of the imagery. These paintings represent pivotal moments that have shaped who I am and how I have arrived at this point in my life. I believe our identities are formed through the people we encounter and the experiences we carry with us.

This semester, I have focused on embracing the creative process itself. I have committed myself to producing a substantial body of work while allowing room for experimentation, mistakes, and trial and error. This process has been essential to my growth as an artist and has deepened my understanding of how memory, emotion, and form can work together.

With a bold painterly style, my work embodies the feelings and emotions embedded in memory. From my expressive surface handling to the uniquely cut MDF forms, I aim to evoke nostalgia, authenticity, change, loss, and friendship as part of the shared human experience.
