Nicole Fortier
B.F.A. Graphic Design
As a Colombian digital artist and B.F.A. candidate in Graphic Design, I merge traditional
aesthetics with contemporary styles to explore branding, logo redesign, and visual storytelling.
Through clean, minimalist compositions, my work invites viewers to engage with cultural
narratives and experience the visual language of my heritage.
Each project begins with research and mood boards that help translate emotion into visual
form. This structured process guides my creation of logos, posters, mock-ups, and digital
compositions that communicate ideas while encouraging reflection on the meaning behind
each piece. Every pattern, color, and form is chosen intentionally to convey identity, memory,
and growth.
The colors, textures, and energy of Colombia—its architecture, landscapes, and people—
continually shape my designs. Whether inspired by coffee-based palettes or symbolic
elements like the condor representing strength, I aim to build visual connections that feel both
personal and universal. These cultural references serve not only as reflections of my
background but as shared experiences that resonate across communities.
Projects such as my Chock-Full O’ Nuts rebrand and the Fortier Workout Space identity
highlight this intersection of culture and design, revealing how visual identity can carry deep
meaning while remaining accessible and engaging. In my typographic self-portrait, words
contributed by those close to me—creative, hardworking Latina, cheerful, bilingual—form
another layer of connection, allowing viewers to understand my identity through both language
and design.
Living between Colombia and the United States, I navigate two cultures that continually
influence my sense of rhythm, color, and composition. As I evolve as a designer, I remain
committed to creating work that invites viewers to connect, reflect, and find meaning within
cultural narratives—honoring the roots that inspire and sustain my creative practice.
